Still here, but not for much longer.
We found the front fuel tank still leaking diesel over the weekend, so on Monday morning I phoned a local plastic manufacturing shop to ask about making a tank. 2 to 3 weeks lead time, so that was out. Then one of the other WARC people said they thought there was a tank in the local Whitworths chandlery store.
I looked at their website and it said there was one in stock that appeared suitable. So our new best friend John, the Ocean Cruising Club Port Officer, brought Peter and I round to the shop and I bought it and the required fittings. Amazingly everything was available and the guy at the counter was helpful.
Then to Bunnings to get a reciprocating saw to chop out the old tank. The wall were almost 50mm thick and we could see the staining where the diesel was seeping out through the wall. As I dropped the pieces onto the walkway one small one bounced into the water. Although it was mainly oil soaked plywood, it sank like a stone with the weight of all the fibreglass on it!
We have a 10 o'clock fuelling appointment to fill up and then back to the berth. The plan is to leave at about 4 this afternoon and go through the night to Cooktown for the day and night and then on to Lizard Island.
Peter about to start work on the old tank.
Peter enjoying himself!

Hugh;
That diesel drip can be a real pain, hope all is fixed soon.
Tomorrow, Sat 20th, is the SYC winery trip. Barb and I will have a toast to you!
