Cairns, 11/8/2016

Made it all the way back to where we entered Australia 8 years ago. It has been a bit of a nostalgia trip in it's own way, remembering various stopping places and channels gone through.
Cairns seems smaller than when we were last here, but maybe I've just got bigger!

It was, as planned, an early start this morning. We left Dunk Island at 10 to 5 in calm conditions. The best we got all day was 11 knots of breeze so we motor sailed again all day. As soon as we got to the marina the wind gusted to 20 knots, that's just typical. Weather was excellent, not too hot, around mid twenties, as is the water temperature now. Just a shame about all the crocodiles.

There are now 3 WARC boats here on the marina, so it will soon be party time on the dock! Plenty more to arrive soon from the look of the tracker plot.

Cheryl unfortunately has to fly home on Saturday, work really does interfere with pleasure doesn't it? It's a real shame but she will return in Darwin to go to Indonesia with us. Peter and Shin are staying on.
We're planning on spending 4 nights here for rest and relaxation, and do the jobs on the boat that need doing. Especially tracing the small diesel leak from the front tank and fixing it. Laundry has to be done too, last chance till Darwin, and maybe some retail shopping too.
