Just one week left now! Yesterday we found a damaged fitting at the mast base. It holds the turning block for the mainsail furling in place, so it's important! On Monday we will attempt to replace it without removing the mast, fingers crossed please. The boom brake is ready to clip on, Eric has done a brilliant job of stripping, cleaning and painting it. It looks better than new now! This week, after the fitting is replaced, it will be food shopping and storage, fill the fuel and water tanks and the Jerry Cans. That will give us enough to motor to Sydney if necessary. Friday the first crew arrives. Eric, Sharyn and Meg are going as far as Sydney with me. BlueFlyer is looking good with the hull and deck washed, waxed and polished. The new to me dinghy is secured on the foredeck. As it has an aluminium hull it is more sturdythan the previous one and so should withstand rock and coral groundings better.
