Did I mention going to Santa Marta in Colombia before?
We did set off to go there, but the wind and waves persuaded us to change course after a day and nights sailing. So now we are in Panama tied up to a Marina called Red Frog Beach on a small island about 130 miles north of the Canal Zone. It is an idyllic place and we will spend about a week here, or until we need to go to Colon for the transit next month. As usual there was an amazing collection of forms and officials on the boat to check in. We are now allowed to stay here for 2 years, good value for 320$US. Shame we will be in the country for only a month or so.
We had to motor sail almost the whole way here through the most amazing lightening displays all around us, we couldn't dodge them, but survived unscathed.
Tomorrow we are of to Cabo Del Toro to get to the airport for Inmigration stamps and to get cash to repay the fees to the Marina manager who paid them for me. Pretty good of him don't you think?
All is well on the good ship BlueFlyer and I'm looking forward to joking up with the family in Dublin next month.
