Le Marin, 18/04/2017

Having seen off nearly every boat in the fleet, we finally left Rodney Bay on the 16th with only Wishanger left behind. We also have a new crew on board, my sister Judith.
Sails up in the bay and then a lovely sail to Le Marin in Martinique. We anchored in St Anne's Bay next to Katarina and Exocet Strike. All on board Katerina for drinks and then a BBQ, very tasty with Michael doing the cooking. A great evening, followed by saying goodbye to Excocet, who have since left to head south again for the hurricane season.
Yesterday morning we moved onto the big Marina here and are currently enjoying power, ie air conditioning, and quiet conditions. Yesterday, being Easter Monday, almost nothing was open. However everything is available today and so I walked over to Caraibe Marine and bought a load of courtesy flags and other hardware. I also went to an upholsterer who is making new rope bags for me. They will be ready in the morning so we will spend another night here amd then hopefully meet Katerina in St Pierre. A visit to the zoo is planned!
This morning we had some heavy rain as forecast, but it has not reduced either the temperature or the humidity unfortunately.
I have bought some internet time so as to pick up my emails, etc. Some good news, I now have a full quota of crew from Panama to Tahiti, so one less concern. All from Sandringham Yacht Club, so no strangers on board which is always good. Too bad if we fall out though!
Our next stop after Martinique is in Portsmouth, but not in the UK, it's in Dominica. Another long sail of about 35 miles, hope we can stand this hectic life.
All is good here on BlueFlyer and I will post again from the next internet spot.
