Antigua, 26/04/2017

Having spent a couple of nights in Rivière Sens in the SW of Guadaloupe, where we found the native French quite unfriendly we moved north to Deshais for a night. Here the natives are very friendly and the anchorage is beautiful. On the way we stopped at Pigeon Island for lunch at anchor.
Early this morning we left Deshais for Jolly Harbour in West Antigua. As its race week we didn't bother trying English or Falmouth harbours for space.
We had a great sail north with easterly winds of 18 to 20 knots, averaging 8 knots over the ground. I was the only one awake mind you!
Tomorrow the plan is to rent a car and go exploring the island, and see if we can catch sight of some of the race boats.

I have had to change plans due to visa requirements for St Croix and Puerto Rico. So we are now going to Tortola and the Dominican Republic again. This was plan A or B, can't remember which anymore.

I also got an email regarding crew from Panama. Due to an accident at least one of the couple planning to join me cannot make it, such a shame, but the surgery is complex.

All is well on board BlueFlyer and, touch wood, still no serious problems to sort out.
