Cabedelo, 13/02/2017o

We arrived here with the start of the rising tide, by design for once! on the 10th.
Mooring on the marina is Mediterranean style. The marina is about 7 miles inland on what would be in Australia a very large river. Here I think it's regarded as an average sort of size. The current with the outgoing tide flows at around 6-7 knots and even flooding its considerable. The river is a very dirty brown colour and I would not want to swim in it. The facilities here are good and the area is generally safe too. Internet is good and it's free too.
All is well on the boat. A German living here came on board and reset the Navionics. There are no AIS targets to check its operation, but it is turned on. I will service the generator soon and we will refuel when it suits the marina, by gerrycans.
As the marina water is drinkable, with Chlorine added, we will use it on board.
Young Michael scrubbed the decks, and, as it has rained, there is no rush to wipe down the steel works.

Unfortunately Michael B is leaving us tomorrow due to tearing the meniscus in his knee. So I may be short one crew to the Caribbean. As we don't leave till the 2nd there should be time to rectify this.

We are waiting for 2 boats who went to Ascension Island to join us this week, and then the rest of the fleet later. Carnival starts next week, looking forward to that.

All well on board and going to rent a car soon.

Enjoy sightseeing and Carnival. Hope you can find new crew. What a shame about Michaels knee. Love Dawn & Garry
