Bernie disappeared below about mid-morning and re-appeared later with fresh baked fruit scones, butter, jam and tea. Exceedingly good nosh.
We upped anchor at 08.00 and motored all the way. The lowest water level under the keel was 0.6 of a metre, but we were on the rising tide. In fact we got to the mid-point at Sheridan Flats with a couple of hours of rising tide left. That meant we still had tide against us initially for the second half. Not a problem. The whole channel is well marked and I still had all the waypoints in from when I came south in 2008. There were plenty of boats anchored along the way and some moving, including the landing craft ferry to the Kingfisher Resort, where Val and I stayed on the way south.
We did see some dolphins but no whales, maybe tomorrow in Hervey Bay. We did however see our first turtle, briefly.
At the moment we are on a T head berth in Uranga Harbour. Tomorrow morning we will top off the fuel again and head off to Bundaburg. We are debating heading to Lady Musgrave Island on Tuesday. It's supposed to be beautiful, does anyone have any experience of it?

Looks sensational. Sitting at home in front of the open fire. Looks like your overnight low is higher than our daily maximum. Predictions of snow to 300 meters on Tuesday. Fingers crossed you have some favorable wind on the way this week. Be good to see the kite up!
