The Broadwaters,4/7/2016

Part 2.

We had a visit from the Marine Rescue people just before high water this morning. Despite their best efforts, we are still stuck to the sand. One boat, with 250 horsepower was pulling the top of the mast over and the other, with 500 horses was pulling us forwards, but no joy.

It's now half way through a rising and much higher tide and we are upright and floating again. The VMR guys are due back at 10 this evening to tow us away hopefully. More on how this goes later, but fingers crossed. We will consult with them as to where to go tomorrow as we're definitely not sailing away in the dark (in both senses of the word).

The engines overheat alarm was caused by the engine running flat out last night. I checked the cooling water pump impeller this morning and it's OK. We then test ran the engine and it seemed OK.

It takes a lot of getting used to being at about 45 degrees all day and none of us slept too well last night either. Better tonight please.

Sounds like a real trial.
Hope you get away soon and find safe passage.
Best wishes

Great to hear.
The blog is a good read for those of us stuck at work but dreaming of a great voyage, keep it up.
