Its deja vu time.
I remember writing 7 years ago how could I pass by a town with this name? This where we arrived just after 2 this afternoon. Nothing much seems different, although it gives me the impression of having become smaller. Maybe it was the dredger at the narrow harbour mouth.
The journey today was 47 miles of which 15 were just getting out of Morton Bay. A journey of 5 miles as the crow flies. We were confined to channels through all the sand bars and shoals and had to share some of it with large ships as well.
There was so little wind that we never even raised the sails, let alone went sailing and tomorrow's wind forecast is promising the same, so yet more motoring. However we do have a fairly notorious entrance bar to negotiate at Wide Bay tomorrow afternoon. The plan is to anchor there for the night and then head north through the Great Sandy Straights on Sunday. We did it 7 years ago going south.
No whales today, the water was too shallow, but we did see some dolphins in the distance. It was warm during the day but is cold now that the sun is gone.
