June 4th.

It is said that the longest journey starts with the first step. Well we did that step today. After a wonderful send off today from the Sandringham Yacht Club we motor sailed to Queenscliff Cruising Yacht Club in damp and misty conditions. We were pursued some of the way by the infamous SYC bugler. Have a look on YouTube for BlueFlyer videos. We had lunch at the club, Fiona, Noel and the girls came, as well as Alastair, Noel's brother. On returning to the boat after a couple of hours I found the batteries flat, down to 10 volts. We started up and went anyway, another problem to sort later. Tomorrow looking OK to carry on to Wilsons Prom for a nights park up on anchor. A big thank you to everyone for the good wishes, and especially to all the friends who came to the club to make sure we left! I'm writing this as dinner is cooking, thank you Meg. I've just checked the batteries after 45 minutes and they are reading full, so it may be a glitch and not a problem at all. I will consult with my electrics guy on Monday for an opinion.
