?final repairs?

It's now 7 weeks till departure and I'm still finding broken/damaged things to fix on BlueFlyer. At the moment the jib is with the sailmaker having a new UltraViolet protection strip fitted, new leather cover on the clew and other minor repairs done. This was expected and in the program. However I did not expect a solid stainless steel plate at the bottom of the vang to bend and then damage the bottom fitting of the vang. The new parts are on the way and the rigger will replace the damaged ones quickly. Hopefully the new parts are an improvement on the old ones. I am also setting up the Satellite Phone to pass on emails to my laptop. Please remember DO NOT PRESS THE REPLY KEY if you are emailing the boat. All that does is resend the message sent to you in the first place, and thus take up expensive satellite time. Next month BF is booked in for a lift out. This is to rub down the hull, and to clean, wax and polish the top sides and deck. This should protect the fibreglass for another few years. Next up will be new charts from Cairns to Darwin and then on to Lombok. Also new electronic charts for the Chartplotter.
