Everyone's here in Quito, Ecuador!! It was a great afternoon with Hugh, Val, Fiona, David, Tony, Eveleine, Mary, Daire, Amy, Rob and JR all here. We had a lovely dinner at one of the restaurants here in the hotel and then a lovely birthday cake complete with red and green age candles (for port and starboard)...it was great!
Welcome to the BlueFlyer blog...here Hugh and the crew will endeavor to keep you up-to-date as BlueFlyer sails around the world for a second time! This time Melbourne to South Africa, then Brazil, through the Panama Canal, through the Pacific Islands and back to Melbourne.

- This is the blog of Hugh's second round-the-world sail on BlueFlyer, a 49ft Jeanneau. The first trip took Hugh and Val from Dublin to Melbourne in 2007-08. This trip will take Hugh and his crew from Melbourne to South Africa, Brazil, the Caribbean, through the Panama Canal and the Pacific Islands, and back to Melbourne again. HI, I wrongly assumed that the Party was on the 14th but great to hear it went ahead on Sat and was so enjoyable for you, Val. It must have been very emotional after all the sailing to meet close family and have friends there. My clock is ticking down towards the 5th of March. Paul
