Dreaming of rum...

Thursday 13th December

Another rolly sea, another few bruises, more water inside the boat due to rogue wave BUT less than 48 hours to go - I cannot believe it!! Actually, 265 miles to go. It is very humid but we are speeding along at 8 knots which is better than our speed has been, and the wind is averaging 20-25 knots. Apparently when we land in St Lucia we are presented with a glass of rum!!! I don't think Hugh or I will be imbibing but the boys have been talking non-stop about it!! Poor BlueFlyer is a bit battered but has so far carried us safely.

When we land in St Lucia we will stay there for a couple of days and clean up the boat, before day sailing Martinique, Guadelope and Antigua. We are booked into a Hotel in Antigua for 10 days over Christmas and New Year. Some friends from Ireland are coming out to meet us in Antigua too. We will stay in Antigua as long as we need to fix up the boat, before we meet up with new crew in mid-January and start the World ARC trip.

Hi! Barry, you're a Poet! I read your piece on the ARC site. Missed John on EC Radio, I'm "too far South" I guess. Landfall tomorrow, it seemed a short time from here. Blueflyer has had its share of coverage. We are off to Austria on the 21st for the Xmas, no water skiing tho! I will miss checking the Blog for news, enjoy the last few hours to St Lucia. Paul
