Sunday 2nd December
It's now 0130 in my watch. Wind is 20 to 25 kts, speed around 7 to 7.5kts. All OK.
We saw a few more squadrons of flying fish this afternoon, they really do fly - several hundred metres at speed! We also caught another Dorado as we were pulling in the lines for bed time. It's all cleaned, gutted and in the fridge for tomorrow.
We have covered over the Iridium tracker to prevent it sending anymore positions, as it appears that the unit was sending out incorrect ones, about 80 miles out. Please look at www.worldcruising.com/arc for our noon positions.
The last report from family back home is that we are in about 80th place in the fleet (~200). It feels out here as though we're oout here on our own, dragging up the tail end of the fleet, as our speed has been so slow up to now - no wind, no speed!
Our skipper has put a wine glass as a waypoint on the chart plotter, marking 1/2 way, and its getting closer all the time! In the evening we check where the sun is as that is our course to the Carribean. Also its getting noticably warmer, except in the rain squalls, which are few and far between.
