Happy New Year to you all, and apologies for the long gap.
The boat repairs continue. The new mirror is on the boat, the hull repairs have been done, the Genoa is back on, the main car has been fixed, however the generator parts have not yet arrived, no news till Monday when the importer reopens.
The hull waterline now has about 80 mm of weed growth on it so will need cleaning before leaving.
The flights home were, as always, long and boring, with delays on the way back, but no problems.
Christmas at home with Fiona, Noel and the girls was great fun and I'm very grateful to them all for recharging my batteries. It was great to drive the Jaguar again and thanks to Tommy for looking after it.
The only disappointment was the total lack of any progress on the house after 6 months away. Hopefully a start will be made next week, I hope so.
Michael Bell from Seattle is on board and the other Michael, and Jamie, will board on Saturday.
Although the fleet is leaving on Saturday the 7th we will not be with them, nor will at least 3 other boats due to spares, repairs or weather concerns. Looking at the current wind forecasts we would not have left on Saturday anyway. Some boats may well be calling to Namibia, but we will be going straight to St Helena for a 3 day visit.
I have just had a rig check done for the new insurers and all is well, as I knew. It is one item on the boat that I keep a close eye on.
We are all set to go once the generator is running, and will resume more regular blogs, especially as the satellite email connection is now working.
Good wishes to everyone and keep reading.

Good to hear all the repairs have been done. Amazing how quickly the weed has grown. Fingers crossed that the injectors are there. Sounds like the new phone is up and working👍 We're having a nice spell of weather, 30's for the next few days. Looking forward to following your progress on the next leg.
