In memory of Val...

Hi all,

Hugh's daughter Fiona here...

I'm jumping on Dad's blog to let you all know about an event I am doing this weekend (23 October) to raise funds for motor neurone disease research. As you know, mum died of MND last year, and so I am doing all I can to promote this event.

As most of you probably know, I am a firefighter with the Diamond Creek Brigade in Melbourne. On Sunday I am taking part in a charity event  - the annual Firies Climb for MND. This event sees firefighters racing up the 98 floors of the Sydney Tower (1504 steps), wearing full structural clothing and breathing apparatus (25kg of kit), all in the name of raising funds for motor neurone disease (MND) research.

I will be flying up there for the day and climbing in memory of my beautiful mum, Val, who died from MND last year. If you would like to know more about the event, or support MND research by sponsoring me, please check out my page. Every cent raised goes directly to the largest MND research facility in Australian - at Macquarie University.

If you see this and think it's worthwhile cause, please feel free to share the web link with others (perhaps around Sandringham Yacht Club?), so I can maximise both recognition and funds.

Many thanks everyone!
