It's hard to believe that another month has gone by and it's now September. We left Melbourne in June. The climate here is somewhat different though.
Tomorrow, Monday, we check out of Australia and head to Lombok in Indonesia on Tuesday. This should be about a weeks sailing, around 1000 miles. Winds are showing in the forecasts as favourable, around 10 to 15 knots easterly, seas smooth, except maybe around the SW tip of Lombok. That is all depending on a part coming from Sydney. It was despatched over a week ago and still no sign of it arriving. Logistics is not Australia's strong point.
While we have been parked up on the marina, Peter and I had a flying visit to see family in Melbourne. Most enjoyable to catch up again.
Since our return we have done all the usual relaxing cruising things, such as fill the diesel tanks and 15 Jerry cans, service the engine, gone shopping twice for food, struggled with no success to get the printer to talk to any other of the laptops or iPads on board and to get the satellite phone to talk to the laptop. No joy at all.
We bought 8 new Jerries and filled them, just to find the vent caps all leaked, so they were returned. We then found another place selling the same cans but with a different cap that doesn't leak. All 15 are now stored away safely.
We have also been to a wine tasting evening here and had some people on board for drinks and nibbles as well, so it's not all work, it just seems that way!
As I haven't succeeded with the satellite linkup there may not be any blogs till Lombok, but I will keep trying. Funny how all these electronics worked in Melbourne though.
