Wollongong to Cronulla, 13/6/2016

A short run today, but interesting. We left our blue mooring buoy this morning at 09.00 and set off along the coast towards Sydney. Anticipated time of about 4 hours. It was a beautiful sunny day, with light breezes and flat seas, so we motored for about an hour, then put up the sails. As we travelled it became obvious we were not going to make our arrival time due to an adverse 2 knot current again. Such are the joys of travel. To make up for this we came across more and more whales, in fact one family of 3 made us almost stop to watch them. they were rolling and waving their fins as well as displaying their tail flukes, all very jolly. We arrived at our marina berth in Cronnulla, a suburb on the south side of Sydney, at about 2.30. Its a lovely, small marina and we are dwarfed by the power boats. Its also reasonably cheap at $55 per night with water, power, showers and toilets included. Its also new and clean with security patrols during the night. Now back on the boat after a Thai meal in the town, good and filling. Tomorrow we are staying here and then Thursday we head to Sydney proper for a few nights and the first crew changeover. More then.

Hi Hugh and crew,
I hope you are enjoying my home town, Cronulla and Port Hacking is a great spot.
The run up from Wollongong is great but the view on the run further north is even more picturesque.
Cheers
David
