Ah, I should not have said anything yesterday about problems.
After about 3 hours sailing today the batteries were flat. Started the generator and up came the voltage, all well. So we sailed on into port and got an electrician around. As far as he could determine the batteries have never been properly charged by the on board charger and are now cooked. Last month I paid the local Sandringham electrical company to test them, all 100% was the report!
Now I am faced with 5 new batteries and a new charger tomorrow, at least $3000. Also the Chargers he uses are in short supply so it looks like we are here till Monday at least.
All will be revealed in the morning when he returns. More later.
The good news is that we had a brilliant sail today. Up to 9.8 knots and averaging 8.0, but still cold. The forecast tomorrow is for 40 knots of wind and not too good for the weekend so all is not lost. The Marina is a bit in the middle of nowhere so it will be taxis everywhere.
Dinner on board tonight, roast pork with apple sauce and veggies. Smells good too.

Sorry about the batteries but better to find out now. J
I'm staying up to hear the beginning of the referendum results, it's really very exciting and there was a good turnout at my polling station. J
