Eden, 9/6/16
Here we are in Eden, New South Wales.
It was 50 hours non stop from QCYC, mostly motor sailing, but a long burst yesterday without the engine, but
with 30 plus knots behind us.
Eden has suffered in the recent storm, a quay and conveyor belt was removed Sunday night/Monday morning and
the swells is still 5 metres outside. Our barge board has just snapped with a very loud bang, and a rubbing
strake has been removed.
Just back from the local chandlery with a new board and 2 big ball fenders.
We are staying here again tomorrow as the official forecast is not good. All is well on board, although the reap airs have started already!
The new generator has been excellent so far, one impeller blown due to the weed in Queenscliff blocking the water filter, otherwise faultless.
Update on the missing jetty. The navy is sending divers down tomorrow to try and find what's left. Visibility in the water is atrocious so it will be touchy feely for them.
Quick update. We have been allocated this spot on the quay by the harbour office, but the fishing boat that moors here has just made us move along the quay. Not so easy in the black dark night. All done finally, but not a word from the fisherman.
