Batemans Bay to Jervis Bay, 12/06/2016

I hope the date is correct as I'm starting to lose track of the calender already! Not too clever at this stage. the day started out well, with breakfast at the Marina after showers, etc. The gate keys were returned and off we went. Not too early as the tide would not permit us to leave any earlier. On the way out the Marine Rescue called us to say that the bar depth was only 1.9 metres and we draw 2.1 metres. Not to worry as we were prepared to wait, and we did! Slow bumping across the sand bar to escape after about a half hour. The winds were blowing at least 2.5 knots at this stage, later galloping up to 4.5. The engine remained on with the mainsail up just to steady the boat, and remained like this for the next 7 hours. We are not enjoying being a motor boat any more. It remained chilly all day, and, as we rounded the headland into Jervis Bay, it got colder and darker. With a lot of help from the iPads we anchored off the Hole in the Wall beach at the southern end of the bay. A lovely Lasagne and salad followed and early bed at about 11. 52 miles covered today with no sailing, ah well its better than storms.
