Last night we anchored off Palm island which is a small island off about 65km off the coast from Townsville. It is basically an aboriginal community and you need permission to go ashore - other than to go to the one shop on the island. The guide books say crime is rife and they do not reccomend landing there. We did go to the shop, however, as we needed milk! Hugh stayed on the boat. So, we ate on board the boat and today we are off to Magnetic island and Townsville. We are hoping to get the VHF radio fitted in Townsville, while Peter and Mary will do some diving.
