Monday 21st July
Its 7 AM and 5 hours to go to the start of our final WARC leg - it seems strange to write that after so long with this fleet. There are only 10 of us on this leg as a lot of boats have gone to Mackay so as to cruise up through the islands to Cairns and then onto Thursday Island. We are full of fuel and food but will make water as we travel along, none available here to fill the tanks.
There is definitely more apprehension on board for this leg than previously, and some sadness that this is our last leg with the fleet. There is also a lot of anticipation at seeing a lot of familiar faces in 9 days...
