Settling into Tahiti (make that Ta-heat-i)

Friday 25th April

Last night we had an amazing evening with Shin's wonderful cooking. He cooked up marinaded black fin tuna. Yummy! Followed by sushi and then miso soup for desert. Then we had a delicious lemon steam pudding made by Irene off Southern Princess. No room for a fruit flan I had bought in Carrefour or for the chocolate cake Rosie from Kealoha had made. I will serve them up tomorrow night when we have Storyteller over - for more sushi etc!

Our evening was somewhat trunkated by a woman on the boat next door who said she lived on the boat and we were making too much noise! This was at 8 pm!! We had no music on and were talking quietly. She arrived again at 9pm and finally at 10 pm when the walkway lights went out. We decided it was time to go below. She apparently has a reputation for stopping all parties on the marina! We will see what happens tomorrow.

It is incredibly hot here. From 10 am until about 4 pm you can do no work. Around 4 pm it is a little cooler. It was also very hot in Rangiroa but at least there you could jump in the water and cool off. The water here is not clean - at least in the marina. Although it must not be too bad as we have the most colourful fish nibbling around the boat - lovely blue tang fish, striped angel fish, leaf fish and loads of others the names of which I don't know! It's like living in an aquarium.
