- This is the blog of Hugh's second round-the-world sail on BlueFlyer, a 49ft Jeanneau. The first trip took Hugh and Val from Dublin to Melbourne in 2007-08. This trip will take Hugh and his crew from Melbourne to South Africa, Brazil, the Caribbean, through the Panama Canal and the Pacific Islands, and back to Melbourne again. Congratulations. You can now consider yourselves to be experienced sailors ready for the next leg. Hope the rudder problem does not stop you spending Christmas in the hotel as planned. Google Earth shows you tied up in harbour.
Have just returned from Ireland; the ferry to Rosslare was rough; severe storm touching High, so you are not alone!!

Great stuff! Looking forward to inspection when I arrive 19/20 Jan.The old oar might get tedious in lieu of a rudder!A great achievement.Hope you guys have a relaxed Christmas with the other Arc Angels.Lots of love from the Riordans in Dublin,Cork and Malaw.
