Las Palmas

Sunday 4th Novemeber

Well, we have now arrived in Las Palams (Canary Isl) and the weather is great! We have been cleaning down the decks and the cabins since we arrived. We have the air conditioning running so it's relatively cool in the cabin. The marina is jam packed and so the boats, which are tied at right angles to the walkways, are touching each other through their fenders. The crew member who sailed with us from Madeira to here has left already as he has to get a ferry early tomorrow to another island to catch his flight back to Ireland.

We are now 2031 miles from Dun Laoghaire (starting point in Dublin), or 2031 down the road towards Australia! The boat has clocked up nearly 5000 miles now and still looks and feels great. All is well and there are only some minor alterations to be done onboard. We are looking forward to 3 weeks of relaxing here before the World ARC really begins - with the Atlantic crossing.

By the way, if you want to follow our journey, you can see our GPS course, mapped using Google Earth at http://blog.mailasail.com/blueflyer
