And we're off...

Sunday 25th November

Wow, it's been a crazy few days here in Las Palmas, trying to get everything organised and ensure that we are all ship-shape (pardon the pun) for the 3 week leg across the Atlantic! Still, I think we managed to get there in the end (well, it's too late now anyway!). The boat is laden down with fuel for the engine and the crew, oh, and we have all our crew here and accounted for too!

So, the weather forecast is for brisk winds for the first 24 hours of the sail but to calm down after that - listening to the rigging clattering against the mast on our last night in Las Palmas was a bit off putting, but once we get going, there is no looking back!

The plan for this morning is to leave the marina about 12pm and take about an hour to head out to the ARC start line. There are 100's of boats here for the start and so it it going to be difficult to head out to the start - we would like to avoid playing bumper boats!

We'll keep you posted on how the Atlantic goes, but we are off land for about 3 weeks now!
